Welcome to START AI

A unique initiative aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Flanders unlock the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data. Through personalized, hands-on coaching, SMEs can gain critical insights into how AI can transform their business operations and leverage data for growth.

What is START AI? START AI provides individual coaching over three days for SMEs. This coaching is led by AI experts who help businesses explore the value of their data and assess AI opportunities. The goal is to enable businesses to create a clear roadmap for future AI and data projects​

Participating SMEs will benefit from:

  • A Measurable Digital Maturity Scan: Evaluate the digital readiness of your business.
  • Data Mapping: Identify internal and external data that can be leveraged for AI applications.
  • Clear ROI/ROV Estimation: Get practical tips on estimating the return on investment (ROI) and return on value (ROV) for AI projects​

How to Participate

We can file the request for you

  • For SMEs: If you’re interested in joining START AI, you can either choose an expert from the START AI Expert Pool or have a shortlist provided by AI Vlaanderen.

Participation Costs

Here the break of the costs:

  • SMEs: A participation fee of €1,645 (excl. VAT) applies
  • Dattico: Will be compensated by the program €4,185 (excl. VAT) based on time sheets and final reports​
